I'm no expert astrologer, but I'm studying both Jyotish and Western Sidereal Astrology. It makes much sense to me, even scientifically, given congruencies between time and location of conception and our development in an aqueous environment affected, possibly, by gravitational pressures and pulls.

most people only look at the position of the sun at the time of their birth, but that is only one of the many benchmarks used in astrology. You can find out the position of your planets at www.astro.com if you know the location and time of your birth.

Ascendant: Cancer
Sun and Mars: Leo
Moon, Uranus, and Pluto: Libra
Mercury, Venus, and Saturn: Cancer
Jupiter: Pisces
Neptune and True Node: Sagittarius
